a week agoThe food is absolutely delicious! You can’t go wrong with anything here and all of it is fresh and filling. The chicken shawarma plate is my GO TO order and it never fails to amaze me. I highly recommend eating here for lunch or dinner!

4 months agoEvery time I swing by Tahina, it's like stepping into a familiar scene with a twist. It's my go-to spot when my stomach's growling and I'm short on time. Their wraps? A wild ride! I usually grab the chicken shawarma, but I shook things up with the lamb and beef kebab pita recently. It's huge! Picture this: you're about to take a bite, and - whoops - it's a delicious landslide. A bit messy, but it's part of the fun. Sure, it's a tad pricey, but the portions are generous. The flavor? Fresh, especially their knockout freshly baked bread. It's the real MVP here. What I really dig is the vibe. The staff are as friendly as it gets, making you feel right at home. Plus, its spot in the bustling Alameda Marketplace adds to its charm – it's like a little treasure tucked away among other gems. So, if you're in a lunch crunch and up for a bit of culinary excitement, Tahina is your place. Just maybe grab a fork!

9 months agoI love Tahina! Whenever I am having a hectic week with no time to cook and need a little pick me up, I come here for takeout. My usual to go is the Tahina bowl. This time, though, I chose the Fattoush salad topped with lamb-beef, and now this is my new favorite! The veggies were crisp and fresh: radish thinly sliced, cucumber, romaine and sumac onion. The perfect amount of feta crumbles and pita croutons with mouth watering lemon dressing. And the lamb-beef was juicy, very well seasoned, and deliciously charred. I ate the whole thing and it was super satisfying! I like they use sustainable packaging and I only wish the lid was also made of paper. I know, I know, this looks prettier… The staff is efficient and there’s no much of an atmosphere (it is a counter), I am giving 5 stars to atmosphere because the outside sitting area is clean and cute. If you find yourself in Alameda you should definitely try it out!

a year agoThis place is 100% authentic if you're looking for a Mediterranean shawarma in a pita. The pita is like pita should be and the shawarma is cut off a large meat stacked in a cone-like shape, and roasted on a slowly-turning vertical rotisserie. This is the real thing. We had both the chicken and beef shawarma which were delicious. The mezze sampler was a nice appetizer.

a year agoWasn’t a fan of their food at all. Could only muster up a few bites as the chicken was completely dried out like cardboard and not edible. The rice was just okay, tasted like packaged rice with little flavor despite the food coloring. The hummus was okay, but the eggplant dip was way too sweet as if they doused it in sugar. Worst middle eastern food I’ve had. I got it within an hour of them closing and wouldn’t recommend doing that. The staff had masks on which is a plus.
