The Islamic Center aims to foster an American Muslim Identity while promoting open dialogue and respecting diverse viewpoints within our family-oriented religious institution.
Very friendly brothers and sisters here when I was stranded in LA, they helped me in October 2021. One of the sisters that worked there her and her family took me in for some time and helped me get back to Iowa. I lost the sisters' and families' contact numbers. I would like to contact them again and let them know how I'm doing and thank them for everything they did for me. May Allah bless you all for helping ameen.
One of the most diverse mosques in the city.
Friday prayer at 12:30 beautiful Quran Recitation begins followed by Kutbah at 1 pm. Prayer is usually 20-30 min after 1 pm.
I volunteered here July 7th of 2018 with an LGBTQ organization called Gay4Good. I had never been to a place of worship for the Islamic Faith and felt welcome.
I would even say that the experience was significantly meaningful to me because I came of age of Islamophobia and had prejudice that all Islamic folks were anti-lgbtq. That is not the case and it was amazing to serve the elder population by handing out groceries.
There are people present at every waktu after subuh, but only cos I don't attend subuh here. Friendly and excellent customer service at front desk. This center hosts extracurricular activities, school for children below 11/12, adult classes during weekends, conversion or reversion for non-Muslims available best on Friday 12pm/7pm. Separate and cordoned female praying space behind the male hall. All day security everyday.
