Outstanding small plates and flavors. Went for my 33rd birthday as I wanted good food in a low key atmosphere and this spot was perfect. Elegant enough, tasty, friendly, and authentic flavors!
The Muhammara was to die for and a taste Iโve never had before!
Outstanding food and service! The stars of the show we had were the flavourful zahara bil tahini, heart warming chicken shawarma and the rich knafeh. The food was delicious, comforting and unique! Additionally, our server Art, accommodated us with such hospitality. He gave us great recommendations while serving us hot tea to end our meal. It was my first time having Palestinian food and will definitely not be the last, thank you again! ๐ต๐ธ
Great experience. Very friendly service. Was also greeted by the owner who was so generous and welcoming. Highly recommend to visit and taste some delicious authentic food with a modern twist.
4 โญ๏ธ only because of tiny portions.
Food is tasty but unbelievably small portions.
We went at closing time and so didnโt have time to order more. When we got our main course and finished it, we felt like we had not eaten at all. So we had to stop by the pizza place across to eat more.
Order two main dishes per person. Lentil soup was literally in a bowl smaller than a ramekin so it was like 2-3 oz. Shish Tawook (chicken) had very little chicken and the freekeh that came with it was also in tiny portion like the soup.
A cute and intimate little restaurant tucked away in the Mission District. The lighting is very dim and many of the tables are suitable for 2-4 people.
Here is what I recommend:
+ Kufta (5/5): Fragrant and flavorful! If you like sausage, this is a must order. Though the portion is small, it's nice to share. It pairs with their freekeh, which is OBVIOUSLY really great too.
+ House Sampler (4/5): Good to share. The hummus is SO GOOD here. Seriously.. perfectly thick and creamy! I like that they add cherry tomato and cucumber. Muhammara was also a favorite amongst our table. I'm biased... Not crazy about tabouleh (I'm sorry). The falafel was also average.. FYI they also charged $2 per extra falafel!
+ Kanafeh (3/5): I have had this dessert dozens of times, and I have never had it sour like the one here. It was still sweet, but had an odd tangy aftertaste I disliked. Worth a try, but strange.
+ Chicken Shawarma Rolled Bites (5/5): You can't go wrong! Perfect size to dip in the toum (garlic sauce). If I'm being picky, I wish there was more chicken though.
