It seems the gyro is better than the plates. I came back for a kofta kabob and it cost me nearly $20.
Nothing special, the salad was right the rice was garlicky, and did come with pita bread and a water, but that's kind of expected for $20 at a takeout place. The hummus was a little thin and I definetely tasted the tahini.
Was a lot faster this time. But something just didn't convince me it was worth $20.
Past review:
The food was very good for a cheap price and everything came with a drink! Free bottled water or soda can. Meats had good texture with enough rough chopped veggies. Pita didn't start falling apart. We said yes to spicy but the dishes weren't spicy.
We can around 1130 on a Sunday. There was just one guy working so food came out pretty slow even though we were the only people there. The man working did apologize for the wait and seemed kind. At around 12, the place started filling up and I know they are busier in the evenings, so he likely wasn't expecting anyone when we got there.
The ambiance is about what you expect with about a few small tables near the back. Everything seemed clean. Would come back!
We stopped by here tonight and let me just say the customer service is amazing and we were helped right away so thatโs always a plus for us! The restaurant is very clean and has enough space outside and inside for guests. The pricing is really good for the amount they serve you! We ordered a kofta platter and a chicken platter. I chose spicy for my chicken and I was pleased by the spice level as I usually try to stay away from overwhelming spice as some restaurants donโt really say how spicy it is! This was a medium and tolerable heat while still being delicious. The platters come with rice, a salad, and your meat choice. The rice was perfect! It was not dry and had a great consistency. The salad was the star for me here, the veggies are cut up at perfect lengths and they are very fresh. It includes lettuce, purple cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber and a yogurt sauce. We ordered hummus and pita on the side, the hummus is a must try. It is spectacular, we believe it is homemade please try it if you go here itโs a must! The food came with a drink as well. And if youโre a fan of Mountain Dew, they have it here! The menu has a great variety, thereโs something here for everyone! They have gluten free options as well as veggie and vegan! Definitely a must if youโre in Davis. This place filled us up quick, we almost stopped eating after the hummus because itโs so filling! we had plenty of leftovers!
The food is always worth the money and the service is always fast and easy. Usually never packed so there's always a place to sit.
Some of the tenderest lamb I've had, and unique fries that leave you wanting more. I'm always pleased when I visit, and cannot endorse this place more.
No fast food tonight, come down to Royal Kabob and Falafel, you won't be disappointed.
This is my go-to spot whenever I'm craving some wonderful food, no matter the time of day. They're always so kind with their service and consistent with the large portions and quality of food. Alongside the reasonable prices, they offer a free drink from their refrigerator with every purchase (an added bonus). Would highly recommend for a great food experience.
