With locations in Glendale, Anaheim and Pasadena, Sarkis Pastry stores are the pride of their communities. Traditional and authentic Middle Eastern and European pastries are the results of a family history in the baking industry for over 40 years. Though the baklava is one of many Sarkis Pastry favorites, we also feature many other varieties of original Middle Eastern sweets as well as French style birthday and wedding cakes; each with endless variety of styles and decorations. Cakes can be ordered by phone and picked up at any of our three locations. “The daintily shaped baklava and kunafa pastries are the loyalty of the Near Eastern sweets, indeed.” writes Linda Burum, in her Los Angeles Times article, referring to Sarkis’ famous hand rolled baklava.
Established in 1983.
Sarkis Pastry was introduced in the United States by being the first Middle Eastern/Armenian bakery in Glendale. Expanding into new locations, Sarkis Pastry next opened a shop in Anaheim in 1995. Soon after in 1999, the newest of 3 locations was opened in Pasadena. Presently, all 3 locations are moving forward serving their respective communities.

7 months agoI highly recommend the cashew cookie, pistachio maamoul, date maamoul, date cookies, and the small white log pistachio cookies I am not sure the name of. I love this bakery because there are SO many items to choose from! If you aren't familiar with particular cookies, It's nice to purchase random ones individually (pay by weight) to decide which ones you like for next time. Randomly picking a few of each would also be a great dessert to bring to any dinner party or picnic. A super sweet lady was so friendly and answered all of my questions about the flavors. I am looking forward to many more trips here and trying everything on the menu at least once (or thrice )

3 weeks agoGreat selection of tasty Armenian/Middle Eastern sweets. My go-to is the cheese baklava, you could never go wrong with that! You donโt even need the syrup, the cheese baklava is elite just by itself. This is sweets heaven for all the peeps from the caucuses and Middle East.

2 years agoDonโt go here hungry. The endless displays of delicious looking pastries are dangerous. I know what a baklava is but they have over 5 different types. โIโll have one of each,โ resulted in baklavas for breakfast and dessert over the next few days. What a treat! The savory pastries are good too. If you donโt know what it is, which I didnโt, just ask and they are happy to explain. Now that Iโm back home Iโm craving this place and itโs pastries.

a month agoI ordered some baklavas through Uber Eats and it was not cheap, I received a platter of kind of cookies which had nothing to do with baklavas and which taste old and not good at all. Fortunately I have been refunded by Uber Eats, but itโs a very strange way to treat new customers, it was my first purchase and it will be the last.

2 years agoBy far the best baklava since I have last been to Dearborn, Michigan. The flavors and textures are spot on. I highly recommend to anyone searching for baklava in LA to check here first. Sarkis Pastry also has coffee and tea beverages as well as a wide variety of pastries and other sweets.
